a behind-the-scenes photo of me & stoya from the filming of the “do it with a rockstar” music video…
y’know the one…the one lots of folks have been asking about over the past few months…
WHERE DID IT GO?
IT WAS RIGHT THERE ON YOUTUBE?!
AND THEN NOT!!

long story short, the “do it with a rockstar” video was taken down by YouTube, many months after being posted, because someone over there randomly decided they didn’t think the tits were artistic enough.
win some, lose some. all of the view counts and comments are sadly lost. the internet. sometimes it hugs you and sometimes it smacks you.

we did a super mini-edit and the new cut is FINALLY up, with a little coda message from yours truly
(in bed, filmed by neil, edited by sean).

speaking of…i’m working on a long blog about neil’s new book.
soon i leave for tour for real.

People are uploading videos of girls fingering themselves, a man cumming in a woman’s face, people getting tortured and straight up porn. But THIS a picture of Amanda Palmer who just happens to be shirtless, celebrating her Kickstarter success, with no sexual connotations, simply because it might offend some children. Here’s the thing, I don’t have kids on Facebook, also, kids don’t have innocence, thirdly a woman’s naked upper body shouldn’t be something seen as sexual when it is not the intention. If I can see the hairy man tits of some balding bastard I think Amanda Palmer’s naked torso should be OK…

maybe it’s just because we’re all talking about tits and censorship on twitter right now…but I feel the need to freely reblog all these bare breast photos. makes me happy.

The Hanging Coffins of Sagada

The people of Sagada in the Philippines follow a unique burial ritual. The elderly carve their own coffins out of hollowed logs. If they are too weak or ill, their families prepare their coffins instead. The dead are placed inside their coffins (sometimes breaking their bones in the process of fitting them in), and the coffins are brought to a cave for burial.

Instead of being placed into the ground, the coffins are hung either inside the caves or on the face of the cliffs, near the hanging coffins of their ancestors. The Sagada people have been practicing such burials for over 2,000 years and some of the coffins are well over a century old.

So my friend Nixie is an incredible lady. This year, she graduated, and though her friends will most certainly keep in touch, leaving is always hard.
So, she decided on one last big adventure: to invite her friends to come paint, draw, and write on her skin. (a la Amanda Fucking Palmer) It could be anything they wanted, however they wanted, wherever they wanted. It was away of collecting memories, of documenting their love, and of expressing her trust.
So this is the collaborative effort of about 10 people and some serious trust from Nixie. Most of this art is not mine, though some is. I was mostly there to document.
Five hours of naked times with friends is pretty lovely business.

(shows that sell out are good for many reasons, one of which being next time i hit the road i’m more likely to go back to where the people is…and we know where the people is based on where the people buy the tickets)…i wish i could be in all cities at all times to drum up the word that WE ARE COMING WE ARE COMING! but i’m not, and that’s why i have you. you are there. i am not there.
